Britney Spears

She is always in the news, isn't she? From losing custody of her children to running a red light with them in the car to baring herself at parties, Britney Spears is going downhill at an alarming rate. Even her latest album, Blackout, is dropping like a rock in popularity. I have to wonder if the title indicates her condition most of the time?

She desperately needs drug and alcohol rehabs, and she needs to stick with them. What damage is her lifestyle doing to her children? They will know who their mother is and the really stupid stuff she's done.

BRITNEY SPEARS

Get ready for a little rant.

How many more times will Britney Spears be brought into the news because of her drug use? I don't know about anyone else, but I grow tired of hearing and reading about her drug treatment, her drug abuse, and the fact that she has young children who also make the headlines with her. She's a grown woman now and makes very poor choices in her life. Those choices may destroy her. Even more sad is the fact that they may also destroy her children, who are innocent bystanders.

I know, these things are supposed to be newsworthy. However, I'd prefer to hear and read news about celebrities who are involved in community outreach. Those who give back to the people who have essentially paid their salaries through ticket sales and through the purchasing of media. I want to hear more about how Susan Sarandin supports the Heifer Project. I'm sick and tired of addicts always making the headlines.

Carrie-Anne Moss

Playing the role of Kale's mother in Disturbia, you'll probably recognize this beautiful woman, Carrie-Anne Moss, as Trinity from the Matrix trilogy of movies. Born in Vancouver, she began her acting career in Europe after having a modeling career there. She then moved to LA where she was in a number of productions.

She's had two children. One is named Owen but she has never released the name of her other child. Having had two children and maintaining her thin figure makes me wonder if she has used the hoodia patch to stay thin or if she is on a strict diet and exercise regimen.

I found it humorous to note that after making Matrix, she can no longer wear sunglasses. She quips, "As soon as I put them on, people recognize me"

Intermission - Capella Student Award

Tammy Alexander has been awarded the 2006 FBI Director’s Community Leadership Award. She is studying for a degree in education with an emphasis on enrollment management. But there's much more to Tammy than her studies at capella university. Tammy is successful in other areas of her life as well.

She is the vice president on the board of advisors for the Infragard East Tennessee Alliance, a branch of the FBI. She is also director for information assurance and cybersecurity training at Fountainhead College of Technology in Knoxville, Tenn. This is one busy woman, and the award she received testifies to her drive and determination. Yet, she remains humble, as evidenced by her response:

“There are a lot of people who are deserving of this award,” Alexander says. “I’m so honored to be recognized among all of them.”

Capella University is an online university that offers 82 graduate specializations and 16 certificate programs. Serving more than 17,000 students from every state plus 56 foreign countries, this school is in it for the long haul and is producing outstanding community leaders.

Anyone who is interested in furthering their education while remaining at their current job should contact capella.edu or call them at 1-888-CAPELLA (227-3552). This is an alternative to attending local classes either full time or part time.

Intermission - Well endowed style

Whether going out to the movies, a concert, or for your job, a woman always wants to look her best and present a good first impression. Those of us who are well-endowed know too well how difficult that can be when clothes don't fit right. If we get them so the top covers us it's often hanging off our shoulders or the bottom is miles too large. There is hope, though.

If you'd like clothing that fits your busty figure and still fits the rest of you properly, you can shop at Eris. They present you with Styles for the Busty Woman so you can purchase your proper size without feeling crammed in on the top. A petite size there is still a petite but it has more room where it counts.

Take a look at the fashionable items, fit for any occasion. It's about time someone understood that not every woman is an "A" cup and made clothes to fit those of us, and there are many, who have ample bosoms.

Intermission - Fashion sunglasses

Want to look like a movie star or sports champion? The answer could lie in just the kind of sunglasses you decide to wear. Fashion sunglasses aren't cheap. I've shopped around at various stores and they are usually far higher than I care to pay for something I'm likely to leave behind at a restaurant. I'd rather just wear lower priced ones, but they aren't usually as nice looking. It's a dilemma, for sure.

However, CTSWholesalers.com offers Wholesale Sunglasses for as little as $10 a dozen. Now, maybe you don't need a dozen sunglasses, but for that price, you could give them away as gifts or sell them outright for a nice profit, thereby having sunglasses for yourself essentially for free.

These sunglasses aren't designer glasses but are replicas or similar to their more famous counterparts, such as Gucci, Prada, Nike, and Chanel. This makes them stylish and very affordable. I've browsed the site myself and find the sunglasses to be very nice looking. In fact, it's my next move - ordering a few styles by package deals and offering them to friends, family, co-workers, and acquaintances for reasonable prices. Seems to me like a good deal. Have nice sunglasses in my own wardrobe and earn a little money, too.

Intermission - Single mom dating site

The site name is actually SingleMomsandDads.com, so saying it's only for single moms is a bit misleading. I signed up for the site and after a few pages of information, I was able to do a match search. I didn't turn up any matches, but then my search focus is pretty narrow.

The site was established for single moms and dads to make connections. This is a different twist than the usual dating site because it caters more to those who have families. So the term Single Parents really does fit better.

This is a rather new site and concept but I look for it to take off since singles with children often have a harder time finding a date than those who are single without children. It's free to sign up and search, but since I didn't find a match I don't know for certain if there are any other costs associated with connecting with others on the site. It's worth a try, though, if you're at a loss about how to meet someone you can go to a movie or dinner with, or just have a quiet evening at home.

Intermission - Got Sandals?

Whether you're off to see a movie or going down to the beach, you'll probably want some new sandals to set off your new casual summer wardrobe. Even more, you'll want sandals that can stand up to frequent wear while the weather is hot. I lived in my sandals last year, when I wasn't at work.

You can get cute and fashionable reef sandals online for very reasonable prices. They range from $18 and up, and if your purchases total at least $75, you can get free shipping. At these prices, you can afford several pairs in colors to match your whole wardrobe.

These gold ones would be great even for semi-dressy occasions.

But then, these pink sandals suit me pretty well, too.

Intermission - Look Like an Oscar Starlet!

As long as we're talking about movies here, we might as well also talk about the Oscars and what's hot and what's not. After the Oscars, you'll find a lot of wannabes scrambling to get their look-alike fashions into department stores and malls all over the nation. Some of those fashions will just beg to be passed over, as they aren't anything that the everyday woman would wear.

Naturally, Peter Belisi is also in the process of making you look like someone very special, which you are! His tactic, though, is to point you to good quality and real wearability in fashions. You can read and view his Belisi Blog: How to Look Like an Oscar Starlet to find out for yourself just how grounded this man is.

Once again, he's taken his ideas of fashion, even Oscar fashion, and brought it to us all in beautiful and workable ways. Were I a few years younger, I'd be wearing the Vera Wang gathered dress he features on the blog!

Still, the purses he points out are truly lovely and I'd love to own even one of them. A younger woman would also do well to look into the shoe styles and make mental notes about what to shop for in that area next time she goes shopping.

Combining his knack for fashion and his sense for current trends, Peter Belisi offers you the sources and styles you'd need for wearing beautiful garments without looking faddish.

Intermission - The online dating scene

People are lonely. We sit here behind closed doors and in front of our computer screens day after day, rarely interacting with friends and very rarely even considering dating unless it's someone else who we've met through this contraption. So, just how good are dating sites?

Most of them want you to pay a fee to have them match you up with just the right person. After you do that, and you think you've found a match you find out that person isn't even on the service anymore, having moved on to, perhaps, a real life. Other matches aren't quite up to your expectations.

So, just how do you link up with someone who really could be THE person for you? First, you do some research. You read about online dating on blogs that tell you honestly about such things as totally free personals. You find out all you can about the service. Don't just jump in. Let the voice and experience of others be your first guide into what is uncharted waters for you. QualityDatingResources.com offers this kind of service to you so you go in armed with knowledge.

Intermission - Just Say Hi

Since Valentine's Day is drawing ever nearer, I'd like to introduce you to someone. Several someones, actually. If you're in the market for dating for finding a lifelong companion, or for casual dating so you can just go out to a movie or chat online, then you may want to check out Free Online Dating at JustSayHi.com. They are listed as a truly free online dating site, with no strings attached. You don't have to give them a credit card number, even, that's how free it is. Nothing hidden.

It's a win-win situation. You're lonely. Someone else is lonely. JustSayHi is waiting to hook you up with that someone special you've been hoping for.

These days, it's probably safer to use an online service to connect with others instead of going out alone and hoping that good looking guy across the room isn't a serial rapist. Online dating gives you all the time you need to get to know someone else. And if you do arrange a personal encounter, it can be in a safe zone of your choice.

Give yourself and someone else a chance at togetherness. Go to JustSayHi, sign up for free, and start looking around. It's for sure that special someone isn't going to come to your door right out of the blue!

Intermission - Women Only!

Here's a neat site for women only and it's called (drum roll, please) Women Only! This is a great site and totally focused on women's issues. Things like dating, lifestyle, fashion, beauty - anything related to a woman's life.

Delve deeply into her site so you can find such interesting customs as The significance of bed in Chinese customs. I am finding her posts more and more fascinating as I go along.

Stop by and leave her a comment, too. Tell her Ann from Talkie Zoo sent you.

Intermission

I just wanted to pop in and ask you to visit grandi13.com for a bit. Leave her a comment and some encouragement, too. Her precious mother is in a nursing home and is very sick. Most days she doesn't recognize her loved ones. We've all known precious family members in this sort of condition and it's hard to watch, hard to deal with.
