THE GAME
Definitely at the top of my list for thriller movies. The Game, released in 1997, is as twisted a mystery as you'd hope for. Michael Douglas and Sean Penn play brothers, one rich and one not so rich, who become involved in a game of life, so to speak. Conrad (Penn) purchases a full blown game of life with danger and intrigue for his brother Nicholas' (Douglas) birthday.
As you watch the movie, you begin to believe as Nicholas does - the game has turned all too real and his life is in danger. There's plenty of action, car chases, and even a wild ride in a taxi to set you on the edge of your seat.
Considering all the high speed chases and flying bullets, I wonder if Nicholas also read some radar detector reviews so he wouldn't get pulled over. It seems the police are never on the spot when it comes to this kind of action and violence in movies, unlike real life.
It's rated R for violence, language, and some sensuality. I recommend it to those of you who love twisted endings.
