DRAGONFLY
This movie absolutely both frightened me and encouraged me. Dragonfly, a 2002 film directed by Tom Shadyac, takes you through the ins and outs of a doctor whose wife was killed in a remote jungle. She was also a doctor and was in the jungle to bring medicine and treatment to the tribes there.
The doctor, Joe (Kevin Costner), thinks he may be going mad. He's hearing from his wife Emily (Susanna Thompson) in very unusual ways including the near-death experiences of children in the pediatric oncology ward where his wife had worked. Even co-workers and friends such as the attorney Mrs. Belmont (Kathy Bates) are beginning to think Joe is losing his mind. Still, he is determined to get to the bottom of it all.
It's rated PG-13 for some mild sensuality (between Joe and Emily) and the general ghosty theme of the movie.
