PLANET OF THE APES - THE ORIGINAL

I rented and viewed the original Planet of the Apes last night. Yes, it was as good as I'd originally thought. There is no high-tech CGI in it, but the story is still very good. It's really a political commentary, and I always like those.

The original, released in 1971, starred Charleton Heston. He gives a powerful presence to the film as a man who is, at first, cynical of everything. His character begins a personal evolution during the film as he seeks to learn where he is and how the whole system got turned upside down.

There is some mild language and you do see the three astronauts' bare bottoms when they find water and go skinny dipping. Otherwise, it's a good movie to see again if it's been awhile since you saw it.
