FRIED GREEN TOMATOES

It's been quite a few years since I last saw this movie. So, while I was out shopping I bought it to watch again. I really liked Fried Green Tomatoes (1991) when I first saw it, and I really like it now, too.

The setting is an old folks' home where Evelyn (Kathy Bates) visits with Miss Threadgoode (Jessica Tandy ) on a weekly basis. During the visits, Miss Threadgood relates stories from her past, when she was young. Evelyn soon grows to love Miss Threadgood and the characters in the stories she's hearing.

This movie has some humorous moments and some very serious ones. It brought me to tears in more than one place. The human side of these characters is well developed as are the relationships that shape their lives. The viewer falls in love with them as if they are real persons in our lives.

There is some bad language, but it's mild compared to many newer movies.

I love this movie, and recommend it to you. If' it's been a long while since you've seen it, buy it or rent it again. I don't think you'll be disappointed.
