RV

If you enjoyed the National Lampoon Vacation movies, then you'll also enjoy RV. This movie is funny although it does have some potty humor. To be expected when you get a family into an RV to drive across the country and the Dad is Robin Williams.

However, it also has some great family love going on, much like the Vacation movies do. The Dad really does love his family and works hard to do the best he can for them. The teen girl is sassy, but ultimately also loves her family, as do every member.

They meet up with a full-time, RV-driving, homeschool family (the Gornickes)who at first glance seem to be a bunch of hicks. In fact, they are all very bright and well-educated. The children are portrayed as skipping high school grade levels and getting ready for college. What makes them "weird" to the Munroe family is that they are so close and so loving, and having so much fun together.

Yes, it's completely a comedy but it's also a lesson in family relationships, and how communication is key to maintaining good, loving relationships. It also gives us a glimpse of a workaholic man and the reasons why he is so driven.

I liked this movie a lot. This sort of silliness isn't for everyone, but I enjoyed every minute of it.
