1408 - The Movie
Many years ago when Brandon and Elizabeth were very small (Brandon was just 2 years old and Elizabeth was a babe-in-arms), we lived in a very old farmhouse out in the country. It was on a dairy farm and had been the home of the parents of the owner of the dairy. Danny worked for the farmer and the house was supplied, rent-free. It seemed like such a good arrangement we just couldn't pass it up.
I was able to even make a garden there, so I enjoyed the place very much. Except for one thing.
One day while we were outside working on the yard, we heard a baby crying in the house. Thinking it was Elizabeth in her crib, I went in to check on her. She was sound asleep. I thought perhaps she'd awakened briefly, then fallen asleep again.
A few days later we were again outside, including baby Elizabeth. We heard the crying baby again. This time we knew for certain that there was no baby in the house. In fact, we began hearing the crying baby frequently when we were all outside - as if some baby were lonely or frightened for some reason.
Now, we never did figure out why we heard that baby, but it certainly was frightening to hear! I do believe there is life after death, though I wonder about the possibility of those who have gone on before are ever able to return to this plane and visit us.
The 1408 Movie is a Stephen King novel turned into a horror movie about a haunted room in the Dolphin Hotel. Author Mike Enslin (John Cusack), who has made it his life's work to disprove paranormal events, checks into the hotel, into that haunted room, to set about again disproving what others have called a haunted room - room 1408. He's in for a dreadful surprise, though, and his life is about to be forever changed. He intends to stay 10 nights, but wonders if he'll survive even one.
I'm looking forward to viewing the 1408 Movie as soon as possible. Here's a sneak preview for your viewing pleasure - or fright!
