Danny Elfman - composer

Surely by now, you have all noticed a trend to use Danny Elfman music in a lot of movies. Tim Burton especially seems to like this man's compositions, and rightly so. The music Danny Elfman creates always fits the movie, no matter what the subject matter is.

Here, when we watch movies, we try to guess if it's Danny Elfman music or not. Most of the time we can spot it, although occasionally we miss it.

What I find extremely interesting about Elfman is that he is self-taught. He didn't graduate from any school of music. Everything he writes comes straight from his own soul.

A short list of movies and a couple of TV shows he's composed music for includes Batman, The Nightmare Before Christmas, The Simpsons, My Favorite Martian, Spy Kids Spider-Man, Red Dragon, the musical Chicago, Men in Black, Good Will Hunting, Charlie and the Chocolate Factorey, and Edward Scissorhands. As you can see, his music is diverse, but wonderful nonetheless.
