E.T.
Another great Steven Spielberg classic, E.T. is well-made from all angles. The character E.T. is almost believable and has loads of personality. Elliot (Henry Thomas) is a typical kid and his relationship with the little space alien is almost like a love story. Drew Barrymore plays Elliot's little sister, so you can see her as a young and very cute child in this movie. Dee Wallace plays a single, divorced mom trying to raise three children without any of them going astray. Peter Coyote plays a man that we first think is an enemy, but turns out to be a very good friend to E.T. and this little family.
It's an adventure from the get-go and has its share of both suspense and poignancy. This 1982 movie is a real treasure to have in your home.
