TREMORS
Tremors (1999) is a rather campy type of sci-fi horror film. Not quite serious, but occasionally gives you the needed "jump factor" I like in scary movies. The characters are definitely individuals that throughout the movie we grow to like. Kevin Bacon and Fred Ward play two Nevada fix-it men who find themselves smack in the middle of a monster hunt. The underground monsters travel through the desert floor, consuming both man and beast. Enters, Burt (Michael Gross) and his wife Heather (Reba McIntire) as militant survivalists with all the weapon power a small army would need to battle these beasts.
Throughout the movie, there are tidbits of humor that make you laugh while the odd lot of monster hunters fight off the beasts and find innovative ways to distract and kill them.
It's rated PG-13 and has some common cursing in it along with a fearsome monster.
