THE MIGHTY QUINN

This is another Denzel Washington movie, but I have to say that The Mighty Quinn was not the best work I've seen him in. Set in Jamaica, Washington plays a police chief named Quinn who is thick into dealing with people both local and from the State Department who are vying for money. The locals want it to go to an underground freedom fighter. The State Department, while originally intending the money to go there, have decided it should be returned to the US Treasury. One man, Maubee, Quinn's childhood friend and the exact opposite type of personality, stands in the middle accused of murder.

I felt that Washington did as good a job as possible considering the script, but to me this film just didn't hit home. His later works are so much better.

This 1989 film is rated R, and has language and sensuality.
