STEEL MAGNOLIAS

When is the last time you watched Steel Magnolias? If it's been a few years, then you really should view it again. In case you've forgotten, this is a story that spans several years in the lives of a handful of women in a southern small town. Each of the women is unique in their approach to life and their status in their small community, but they are all united by a bond that runs deeply within them. These are women who stand up to the trials of life and face those trials head-on, while giving support to one another. They have strength and grit, but are not abrasive. Well, one is but we like her anyway because she is a true friend to the others despite her outward behavior.

Starring such fine actresses as Shirley MacClaine, Olympia Dukakis, Daryl Hannah, Julia Roberts, Sally Field, and even Dolly Parton, this film was released in 1989 is rated PG. It's one of my favorites.
