DISTURBIA

This 2007 release has plenty of jump factor! Disturbia begins with a young man's sudden loss of his father and his personal problems that come as a result of that loss. He smacks his Spanish teacher in class and is charged with assault. The judge, understanding the boy's inner pain, sentences him to house arrest.

Home, with little to do, he begins observing his neighbors from a second story room of his house. The mischievous little boys who are secretly watching a girly channel on TV. The man who cheats on his wife with the maid. The girl who just moved in next door. And Mr. Turner (David Morse), whose activities make Kale (Shia LaBeouf) suspect the man is actually a serial killer.

His suspicions are correct, but how does he convince the police and his mother? He enlists his best friend to bring electronic gadgets of all kinds to him - digital video camera, cell phone with the capability to take photos and videos with sound, MP3 player, iPod, and other gadgets - so they can together set up their own full-blown stake-out.

Rated PG-13 for violence and brief sensuality, this movie is one where you know who the bad guy is from the beginning but you don't know how everyone else will find out.

oh I liked this movie, it was a bit twisted and put me on edge. I hated the beginning though, almost had me in tears.

I had the same reaction at the beginning. I knew something was about to happen, but it was so sudden and it nearly broke my heart. Those few minutes really established the good family relationship that existed.

Yes it did. It definitely is NOT a movie for kids though. As soon as I saw that first scene I made all the kids get out of the room, it was just too sad and had no clue what else would happen.
