Intermission - Market research
Every business is basically geared to do one thing - improve their bottom line. To accomplish this, they need to first improve their top-line sales. The question then remains: How are top-line sales increased?
Besides the general aspects of advertising to get the product name in front of the public eye, companies engage in extensive market research so they will know who their buying public really is. They need to know the interests of those they are trying to sell to, and using a company such as Synovate is one way to do this.
Market research is used in every business endeavor so that the companies can focus on the segment of the population their product is geared toward, and perhaps even learn that their product isn't as appealing as they thought it might be. This gives a company an opportunity to change some selling points or even something about the product itself to make it more marketable.
