VERITAS
The most captivating thing about Veritas is the beautiful artwork on the DVD cover. This is not repeated anywhere in the movie. In fact, the actor chosen to play the leading role is good looking enough but not at the amazing super-hero level you'd expect.
This movie is about a couple of comic book characters - Veritas and Nemesii - who transport from the comic realm to earth. Veritas can see the truth in things people say, and he can tell when they are lying. He enlists the help of a 10 year old boy to defeat Nemesii, whose intent is to get a secret code and destroy the earth. She is an inveterate liar, of course, and a shape shifter, which is a form of lying.
The super hero winds up being an awkward, goofy person when the boy and his friend try to make him look normal. You know, without the armor and wings. I'm pretty sure this could have been a fairly good story but it seems to me as if the producers used a lamb motor to suction anything remotely interesting off the film.
In this movie, the super hero is certainly good but he is also a bit stupid. The evil character is certainly evil, but overacts her part in a big way.
