JOHNNY MNEMONIC

I guess I'm a little behind in movie watching because I just found this movie in son's movie case. Johnny Mnemonic is a futuristic sci-fi thriller about a time when a part of a person's brain could be removed to make room for a wet wired computer storage device. These devices are used to secretly transport secret information between companies or between governments.

The secret that Johnny (Keanu Reeves) is carrying is the cure for an epidemic neurological disease that's actually caused by all the high-tech in the world. The "Lo-Teks", a band of people fighting for true freedom from all that, have the secret to removing this information from Johnny's head. Why? Because he uploaded more data than his implant could hold, which leads to leakage in the brain and eventual death of the courier.

Johnny has always only looked out for himself and cares not a wit what happens to anyone else. Now, he's beginning to change his outlook.

This movie has an R rating and should have - it's extremely violent.
