THE MAGNIFICENT SEVEN
A classic Western if ever there was one, The Magnificent Seven has everything you'd expect in a movie of this genre - tough, cool guys, gunfights, heroes, villains, and heart. Actors such as James Coburn, Yul Brenner, Eli Wallach, Robert Vaughn, and the toughest of all, Charles Bronson lend their acting skills to this old west drama.
The story tells of a Mexican village which is attacked and oppressed repeatedly by banditos. Three of the villagers head into the US to seek out and hire men who can protect the village. The Seven American gunslingers are hired. The mission of the Seven first is to teach the villagers how to defend themselves against these marauding bandits who sweep in to steal food crops and do damage.
This 1960 film is a loose remake of the movie The Seven Samurai. The setting is the Old West but the basic story is the same.
