AVPR: ALIENS VS PREDATOR - REQUIEM

This is the 2007 film starring your two favorite nasty aliens. AVPR: Aliens vs Predator - Requiem is set in a small town in the US where both nasty enemies have landed. The alien has mutated and is now part-predator, part-alien - a Predalien - possessing the best and the worst of both. The predator is on a mission to destroy any and all of them. At risk are the residents of the small town and many of them die in the battle.

Enters the heroin, not Sigourney Weaver, a spunky army woman (Reiko Aylesworth) who is home on leave. She's got grit. She's got talent. And she's got revenge. Her husband has been killed.

While the battles and the gore that gave it its R rating were all in place, this film lacked the grandeur of storyline that was present in the first Alien and Predator films. The heroes are a bit weak and the treatment of the town by the military was harsh and cruel. The sideline stories did nothing to add to the script and were more diversions that added to the film length than anything.

The men's fashion styles in the movie were appropriate for the scenes they were in and the supposed small town setting. T-shirts, jeans, and other casual attire were worn by the young men who seemed fresh out of high school but not yet ready to meet the world head-on. Especially a world that included such bad guys as these.

Well, at least the Alien and the Predator got their parts right and did their best to make the movie good.
