THE SECRET LIFE OF WALTER MITTY

As delightfully funny and yet poignant a movie as Danny Kaye ever made. The Secret Life of Walter Mitty tells the story of a fiction writer who often gets caught up in his daydreams, imagining himself to be the venerated hero of some surgical theater or war action. When he's brought back from his daydreams, he finds himself to be the little respected serial story writer in real life. His innovative ideas, sparked from his daydreams, are brushed off then stolen by people above him.

If Mr. Mitty were playing on swing sets, he'd imagine himself to be a paratrooper, dropping in behind enemy lines to single-handedly win the war. Yet, when real trouble with real bad guys crosses his path, no one really believes him. He's on his own to avoid being killed by the bad guys, who he has witnessed in the act of a murder.
