NACHO LIBRE

I suppose you'd need to be a Jack Black fan to really enjoy this movie. Well, I guess I am. I don't think this is destined to be a classic, but Nacho Libre (2006) is entertaining in a "bathroom humor" kind of way. Yes, there are crude jokes throughout, but the basic story is a good one. It's rated PG because of the crude humor and wrestling violence.

It tells the tale of a friar (Black) at a Mexican orphanage who has always wanted to be a luchador, or wrestler. He finally begins wrestling with his thin, lanky wrestling partner at nigh, yet continues his work at the Mexican orphanage during the day where his is a cook. He wins a big match and what does he do with the money? He buys a bus for the orphanage to take the boys out on field trips.

While the movie is full of physical comedy, slapstick, and nonsense, the story line is actually very good and it's heartwarming.
