UNDERWORLD

This is not everyone's movie. I watched Underworld and was disturbed by the amount of gore and bad language. I understand, there are many who enjoy this genre of movies, but I am honestly not one of them.

The movie tells the story of an ongoing battle between vampires and werewolves. Unlike similar movies from decades ago, this one is charged with evil and violence, although the movie makers did try to slip in a love story aspect. One werewolf- Michael (played by Scott Speedman), was in love with a female vampire - Selene (played by Kate Beckinsale). This aspect introduced a sort of "Romeo and Juliet" theme. However, in my opinion, any redemptive aspects of the movie were overshadowed by the amount of gore and violence.

This 2003 movie is rated R, and rightly so.
