SOUTHERN GOSPEL MUSIC

I have to be honest, this is my favorite kind of Gospel music. Southern Gospel gives me all the hope and joy of a hymn with the rhythm of country music. I especially love convention music, since that comes from groups who are struggling to make their way in the Gospel music field as well as the "old timers" whom we've grown to love.

Southern Gospel has a real soul to it that is sometimes lacking in other genres. It also has real harmony of singing, with the bass singers as low as you can imagine and the tenors as high.

New Southern Gospel groups give us a new twist to old themes, too, so that the tradition isn't sacrificed yet the concepts are engaging.
