ANGELS & DEMONS

Tom Hanks takes us once again into the secrets that lie behind a lot of church history. I'm not saying that this movie is based in fact or truth. No. It's speculation, in my opinion, that's loosely based on some historical events.

In Angels & Demons (2009;PG-13) Hanks plays a cynical, agnostic author who apparently knows more about the history of the Catholic Church than do those who are in the hierarchy. His knowledge is enlisted, along with that of a lovely scientist, to find those who captured four cardinals who were sequestered for papal elections following the death of the Pope.

There is a lot of running to get to each cardinal and save his life, which they do not have a lot of success at. However, the exercise does offer a fat burner aspect. Near misses often do.

I enjoyed the movie immensely. You must suspend your disbelief and take the film at face value if you watch it. It's an adventure with thrills.
