Talkie Zoo: HARDWIRED

Not a bad movie altogether, Hardwired (2009; R) stars Cuba Gooding, JR and Val Kilmer. It's a futuristic sci-fi story of people having implants in their brains so that they can view commercial ads. Commercial ads are already projected all over the place. Besides the usual locations, there are also holograms which inundate the public with ads for products.

The rule of the world seems to come from corporations which have control of even the governments.Oil companies, manufacturers, soft drinks, baby gifts, gifts for her or for him - you name it, there's an ad being blasted continually from somewhere at everyone.

Gooding's wife is killed in a car wreck, but he remembers nothing of his previous life due to the implant. He does, however, begin seeing the ads and even displays of words in front of his eyes. This confuses him terribly. Soon, a group determined to hack the computer implants contacts him and the race is on to disable these ads before the implant actually explodes. See, anyone who finally figures out what's going on, the implant is triggered to detonate so that person can't reveal the truth.
