SNAKES ON A PLANE

R rated for violence and some nudity, Snakes on a Plane is suspenseful but also predictable. There were a couple of "jump" moments, of course, when snakes shot out unexpectedly from places, but other than that and the natural snake fear most of us have, the movie was not that surprising. Sex and nudity were placed into the movie simply to draw the crowd who thinks no movie is complete without it. Neither had anything whatsoever to do with the already weak plot.

There being the ultimate hero and the ultimate villain, as usual, good overcomes evil with the usual collateral victims along the way. Ickiness is a definite factor but the premise is so far from plausible (crates loaded with snakes and flowers, released onto an airplane full of unsuspecting passengers just to get to one federal witness) that I found myself saying, "What? Huh?" all the way through it.
