THE ILLUSIONIST

I just finished watching The Illusionist and I must say I really liked it. I liked the film style, which made me feel as though this was an old movie. I liked the story with its twists and turns. I liked the music that played in the background.

It stars Paul Giamatti, Jessica Beil, and Edward Norton. Set in the turn of the 20th century, this 2006 movie takes you into that world and time as if you are experiencing everything the characters experience. It's the story of a man who, from youth, was interested in magic and made it his life's work. It's also a love story centering around the man, who was born of peasant blood, and the woman he loved since he was a boy and she was a girl. She, being the future duchess.

It's rated PG-13 for some brief sexual scenes, though they are not full-blown sex, and some violence. In all, though, it centers around neither of these brief parts.
