ALIEN
Classic alien v. human movie, Alien has everything you want in an alien movie including the "jump factor". Yes, I've seen this movie a number of times in the past, and yet the same scenes tend to make me jump every time, even though I know what's coming.
Released in 1979 and starring Sigourney Weaver, Tom Skerrit, Ian Holme and other greats, this movie is full of alien violence, which gives it the R rating. There's also some language, as is to be expected in this sort of sci-fi film.
The story begins when a space freighter lands on a planet to investigate an SOS signal. That's where they encounter the alien eggs in an underground cavern and one man is attacked by the creature that shoots out of an egg. He is taken back inside the ship against captain's orders for quarantine, where the alien grows and contimues it's hunt for the crew.
Slime, blood, drams, multiple rows of teeth on the alien, and general terror throughout the ship will keep you glued to the film, except when you jump out of your chair!
