LEMONY SNICKET'S A SERIES OF UNFORTUNATE EVENTS
Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events (2004) is a very unusual and interesting movie. I haven't read the books, so I don't have that to draw from or compare against. However, I did enjoy the movie. Jim Carrey did his usual excellent job of playing the "dear Count Olaf", a wicked man who has set out to kill the three orphans and claim their inheritance. The man of a thousand faces disguised himself as several other personages, which only the children recognized as the adults in the story were always completely taken in by him.
Could be a bit frightening for younger children but in all, it's still family friendly and a neat little fairy tale of sorts.
Also stars Jude Law as the voice of Lemony Snicket telling the story, Catherine O'Hara, Billy Connolly, Meryl Streep, Luis Guzmán, Jamie Harris, Craig Ferguson, Jennifer Coolidge, and Jane Adams.
