Against a Crooked Sky
This is a 2004 movie about a frontier family's encounter with the Native American tribes around them. Strictly a family movie in every sense, I believe. The story is well written and there's a surprising twist at the end.
It stars Richard Boone, Stewart Petersen, and Geoffrey Land. It's from the producers of "Where the Red Fern Grows", so you can see it's from good hands.
It tells the story of a young girl being kidnapped by a band of Indians and her brother's adventures as he seeks to recover her and bring her home again.
Excellent family values are portrayed along with courage and self-sacrifice.
