Champion is the true story of Danny Trejo, a man who came from a life of drugs, crime, and prison to become an actor and success.

Danny Trejo is probably the most intimidating man I've ever seen. Of Mexican descent, his hard life shows in his face. He began his life of crime at an early age, following in his uncle's footsteps. From smoking marijuana at the age of 9, by his uncle's encouragement, to stealing anything from a Chrysler 300 accessory to money, Trejo was on the road to ruin. He was in and out of jail for crimes such as theft, assault, and drug abuse. This man seems to be the least likely person to pull himself out of that kind of life and into a life of hope including an acting career and marriage with children. Yet, he did it.

This movie should give anyone hope. No matter where you come from. No matter what you've done. There is a way out of the quicksand of your life and into the bright future that's just for you.
