A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM
We did go see the community theater production of Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream last week. I have to say, they did a great job with this play.
While it was a bit off the original, it was hilariously funny. They kept the setting in the time for which it was written, including costumes and all the "thees" and "thous" you'd expect to hear from Shakespeare. They also pursued the original story line. (Look it up if you don't remember.) What was so funny was their interpretation of some of the lines, and the overly dramatic application of them.
Essentially, they brought the play to life for even the youngest members of the audience. It is a comedy, and it really was a comedy when they performed it!
