ROMANCING THE STONE
This is a movie I hadn't seen in years, so I decided to get it and watch it all over again. Primarily, Romancing the Stone is like watching a cross between Indiana Jones and Pirates of the Caribbean.
When we first meet our heroine, Joan Wilder (Kathleen Turner), who is a romance novelist and whose sister has been kidnapped by people (Danny DeVito and Zac Norman), who want a rare, precious stone. It all takes place in Colombia in the jungles that look like a garden of life but are, in reality, fraught with dangerous animals and outlaws. Wilder is seemingly rescued by (Michael Douglas), although his new plans are to take the precious stone for himself.
Through jungles, past poisonous snakes, and skirting around lawless men, the two fight their way through the jungle with a little help from the occasional new-found friend.
Releaseed in 1984, this movie is rated PG.
