Intermission - Recalls

Recalls are all over the news lately. Mattel, pet food, cars - you name it and products are being recalled. When manufacturers outsource to foreign companies, they lose control of key points in the manufacturing process. What's illegal here may not be illegal there, such as lead based paints used on toys. It's a shame when, in this country, we have to be afraid of the toys we buy for our children because we don't know what's on them that could cause harm or even permanent damage.

During times like this, a is probably your only recourse. You can't undo what's been done, but manufacturers must be held accountable for what they produce and sell. Parents know that small objects can be choking hazards, and they avoid toys made with such small parts. But when it comes to other things, such as the paint, how are they to know that's a hazard?
