THE BIG TREES
If you like really old movies with great actors, you'll really like The Big Trees. Made in 1952 and starring Kirk Douglas and Eve Miller, this old movie has now been digitally remastered and is in color.
It's the story of an unscrupulous lumberjack and his plans to make millions of dollars from harvesting the California Redwoods. The drawback is that the land the trees are on is owned by Quakers and they are striving to stake their claim and work the land.
This movie is a good viewing because of the story line, although somewhat predictable, and the telling of it through the eyes of both the greedy lumberjack and the pious Quaker woman who becomes his love interest.

Oh, I love old movies, most of which are so much better than the stuff being filmed today. And Kirk Douglas in 1952 - young, handsome, manly - yum! I could go for that - the movie, I mean! ;0)
