BRUCE ALMIGHTY

Bruce Almighty, starring the inimitable Jim Carrey along with Jennifer Aniston, is the story of a news reporter who hasn't gotten all the good breaks in life he thinks he deserves. Therefore, he shakes his fist at God, who he accuses of kicking sand in his face during life. Then, God, played by Morgan Freeman, gives Bruce a chance to have His powers for a time to see if he can actually do any better.

The movie is not really sacrilegious since it does point out that God really is in control. It surprised me a lot, because I figured it would be a total nonsense movie. I was actually pleased by the story and the ending, amid all the funny antics of Jim Carrey throughout.

This is NOT a ministry film, of course, but I found it funny, enjoyable, and at times poignant.
