Former boxing champ Hassim Rahaman's brother was tried and convicted of causing injury to a police officer who had chased him on motorcycle. Karim Rahman was sentenced to 20 years in prison and a judgment against him in favor of the officer and his wife for $6,000,000. Hassim has vowed to donate a portion of his ring winnings to the family. Great thought and very noble, if he truly follows through. However, keep in mind he's a former champion. An award of $6M is great if you can receive even a portion of it. If you can hire the right personal injury lawyers, you can get a judgment awarded to you, but collecting is another story in reality.
