CLIMATE REFUGEES
I will be embarking on the task of reviewing a number of documentaries that revolve around such things as climate change, environmental issues, self-sufficiency, preparedness, and natural resources. The first is a film called Climate Refugees (2010).
This film addresses the aspects of climate change and weather changes which affect millions of people worldwide. It shows us in harsh detail what is happening across the globe and how it affects the people of different lands. The outcome of natural disasters such as hurricanes, tsunamis, glacial meltdown, arctic meltdown, wildfires, and the desertification of once arable lands is that hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of people become displaced and are forced to move from their homelands to regions which will support human life better.
Some of those places may include more developed nations and countries -- and those places may simply not be able to absorb all the refugees that cross their borders. As of now, there is no international law in place to give aide to those people. Political and religious refugees do have the protection of law, but when disaster strikes, the refugee laws do not cover those who are simply trying to survive.
