PANDORUM
One of the strangest and eeriest sci-fi movies I've seen in awhile. Pandorum (2009; R) takes place in a space ship, where we learn there are thousands of people in deep hypersleep, traveling toward an inhabitable planet called Tanus. This planet is the place of hope for the survival of the human species.
A few of the passengers and crew awaken early, from agrigultural personnel to those who had completed their bpi certification for energy autiting, only to discover that the primary reactor of the ship is failing, and that there is some species of voracious alien aboard that must be dealt with. Pandorum is an illness of the mind where those in charge may wind up killing the passengers. At the very least, they are delusional about their circumstances.
Dennis Quaid plays the ship's lieutenant in this thriller with the most twisted end. However, as much as I usually enjoy films with this actor in them, this one was a bit of a let-down.
