THE VANISHING

If you love psycho-thrillers, you'll really like The Vanishing. This R rated, 1993 film is chock full of scary ideas and a super creepy bad guy (Jeff Bridges) who tries to prove his good side is good only because his evil side is evil by kidnapping Diane (Sandra Bullock), the girlfriend of Jeff (Kiefer Sutherland). Jeff then goes on a three year quest to find out what happened to Diane.

In the process, and after a time on "skid row", he meets Rita (Nancy Travis) who tries to pull him out of the obsession that colors every part of his life. He pretends he's over it, and is submitting books to a publisher, but on his computer is the real truth - he still looks for Diane and can't move past it.

Jeff Bridges, in the role of Barney, really creeps you out with his bizarre accent and even more bizarre actions. Everybody winds up in danger because of this bad guy!
