THE KINGDOM
If you love political movies as much as I do, then The Kingdom (2007) will be right up your alley. The film is loaded with action, including a lot of bloody violence, so you won't want your children viewing it, but you'll find the plot in line with today's news items.
The title refers to the kingdom of Saudi Arabia, a known US ally, which has become rich through oil. It is the world's largest producer of oil, and the US is the world's largest consumer of oil, so it's in our interests to remain friendly with them. However, there is a darker side to some citizens there and they have no good feelings for US citizens. It is around this that the movie is based, as radical Saudi Muslim extremists set about to destroy those they perceive as their enemy. In comes the FBI, whose mission it is to bring to justice anyone who seeks to harm US citizens, even those living in Saudi Arabia.
Jamie Fox, Chris Cooper, Jennifer Garner, and Jason Bateman star in this R rated film. The violence and language are both brutal, but the story and plot are excellent nonetheless.

I have seen the movie when it was in theaters, excellent movie in general. However, I did not like how the Saudi policeman was portrayed as retard, this is not new in American movies which why I still think it's an excellent movie.
Thanks for your input! Now I'm trying to figure out which policeman you're talking about! :) I thought they were all portrayed as patriotic officers, each having a different view of what was necessary to bring criminals to justice. Not being Arab, I could have missed something, though. I did NOT like it when the character Faris was killed. I grew to like him during the movie.
