CRITTERS
Not the most technically advanced sci-fi movie ever made, Critters (1986) was entertaining in some respects anyway. Everybody's favorite here's-another-emergency-involving-my-children-movie mom Dee Wallace plays a farmer's wife who is once again screaming and crying for her children and fighting against terrible, outer space monsters to save her little family. She's not the true heroine of this movie, but she still does some fighting and screaming and crying.
Critters takes place in Kansas, where, surprisingly, everybody talks like they're from the deep South cotton farming regions. The furry and ravenous aliens have landed and so have two inter-galactic bounty hunters. In the mêlée to save this family, and our planet, a lot of property is damaged or destroyed including the farmhouse the family lives in. Apparently, the bounty hunters learned that Dad hadn't gotten any home insurance quotes, because they cosmically rebuilt the house, too.
More of a spoof on sci-fi movies than an actual "what if" one, you'll need to keep the grains of salt handy when viewing this PG-13 film.
