PATHFINDER

I had never even heard of this movie until Brandon bought it at Best Buy the other day. He watched first, then told me to watch it - that I'd like it. Well, he was absolutely right.

Pathfinder is historical fiction, based on the very early days in the Americas, when Vikings sailed the seas. It's the story of a boy who was the son of a Viking, and whose ship wrecked on the coastline. He was taken in by the Native Americans and raised as one of their own. He had memories of what his clan had done to the natives, which was slaughter them mercilessly. While the Vikings viewed the natives as savages and less than human, it is the Vikings themselves who are the true savages.

Eventually, when he was grown, other Vikings landed and the tale continues as he and his tribe and other tribes try to fight them. In this movie, we hear the natives speaking English and the Vikings speaking Icelandic with subtitles.

This 2007 movie has an R rating for the bloody violence and some sensuality.
